- Prevention of Self-Referrals: The system blocks attempts to refer oneself by detecting if the advocate's email is used in the referral process, even if slight variations of the email (e.g., using ā+ā) are employed.
- Cookie Tracking: Rivo uses cookies to prevent individuals from referring themselves using different email addresses through the same browser.
- New Customer Requirement: Only new customers can use referral links. If a referral is attempted with an email that has previously made a purchase, the system will block it.
- Minimum Cart Requirements: Merchants can set minimum purchase thresholds for referrals to apply, ensuring that rewards are only given for legitimate, valuable transactions.
- Order Fulfillment Check: Advocates receive their rewards only after the referred friendās order is marked as fulfilled in Shopify, ensuring that the purchase is genuine.

With amount discounts, you can set a specific dollar amount off a purchase, with options to add minimum cart requirements, apply the discount to specific products or collections, and set an expiration date.
